Who Is amico|immaginario
amico|immaginario was born 45 years ago in a small town full of churches and asbestos where He spends a pretty happy childhood.
Despite this apparent normalcy in the early years of life realizes that he was born too late for the Revolution and too early to live with calm resignation.
Active, curious, lazy, ineffectual, moderately sociable.
During his life he became convinced that he was abandoned on the ground by some alien spacecraft for an experiment where the end is still far today. This belief took root thanks to the absence of scientific evidence that could convince him otherwise with absolute certainty.
What I do
Plains and produces works of art and installations in all kind of materials and in every dimension. Supervise and install artworks in galleries, museums and private collections. Consultant on issues of restoration, framing, and shipping crates.
Currently based in Paris, has worked for artists (Gabriel Orozco, Sarah Sze, Jennifer Allora & Guillermo Calzadilla, Melik Ohanian, Danh Vo, Rossella Biscotti, …); galleries (Chantal Crousel, Patricia Dorfmann, Superdakota, …); and foundations / university / public authority (Peggy Guggenheim Foundation, New York IFUD, Solomon Guggenheim Foundation, Ministry of Culture of Bahrain, Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain, Biennale di Venezia…). Collaborate with Grappa Studio (Paris) and AltoFragile (Milan).
In a past life I was a multirole nerd with decades of experience in analysis, development of corporate identity, advertising, publishing, packaging and other paper projects for small and medium businesses and the public sector. Careful and practical in all the various stages of the production process and printing. Creative and minimal web designer, attentive to the latest applications and web technologies. Long experience as copywriter for the web, technical texts (manuals and software user’s guides), unnecessary and facetious texts.
Active, curious, moderately sociable; speaks Italian, French, English, a bit of Spanish and gesticulates if necessary.
